Took the Introductory Sociology CLEP this morning with success!! Needed a 50 for credit ... got a 72 (out of 80 possible). Woo hoo! And the best thing ... this was my last gen. ed. requirement! Now it is ONLY that CPNE (clinicals exam) standing between me and "Graduate Nurse" status. I'm projecting my CPNE date will be between June and August. Lots of students, not so many testing sites!

So yes, once again, I over-studied. LOL!! Is anyone surprised by this at this point?

It took me 25 minutes to get through the 90 questions on the Human Growth & Development CLEP test for a score of 71. Woo! You only need a 50 for credit, so I feel pretty good about that. Not a bad test, overall. Yes, I probably over-studied. I always do. Hee.

Errrr ... I just realized that an 80 is the highest score you can get on a CLEP. So my 71 sounds even better! LOL

One more CLEP (sociology) and I'm done with my general ed credits! Yay!

So that lovely grind-and-brew coffeemaker? It stopped working -- the power just died, it wouldn't come on at all! Thank goodness I kept the receipt -- we went and exchanged it for a brand new one today. :) Hopefully this one won't croak! It was a tense, panicky moment the other morning as I tried to figure out how in the hell I was going to make coffee, until I remembered that I had Ye Old French Press in the cabinet. That thing makes some really good coffee. :)

Also, the local uni wanted two days' notice to schedule a CLEP test, so I won't be taking it until tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. But it's all good! :) I'll be sure to post about how it went for the few people that read this blog. ;)

Oh, and one more thing ... I'm going to take my CLEP test for Human Growth and Development tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck! :)

It's been a while since I've updated ... good grief, time is flying. The first week of December I drove down to Charlotte, NC for a CPNE workshop for school, which was excellent! It was awesome to meet some of my "classmates" in person (*waving* hi Kathleen!!). We've decided we'll have to take a big trip to Vegas or something when we're all done with school and we have our RNs. :D The workshop material was great -- I'm much less stressed about the CPNE (the clinical exam), now that I've been to this workshop -- I feel like I know exactly what I need to do and study in order to be successful with it, and that is a great feeling.

Worked a lot of extra shifts in December, which is great for ye olde checking account. :) Hope everyone had a wonderful Yule, if that's your thing, or a great Hannukah, or a fabulous Christmas. We got each other a couple of things for Yule this year -- we got Michael a Pena gargoyle statue he's been eyeballing forever, and a new tattoo machine he'd been wanting. For me, a new Cuisinart coffeemaker that grinds AND brews the coffee ... I love that thing!! It's awesome, and it was good to get a new coffeemaker -- the old one wasn't making the coffee as hot anymore. I also got a pair of Ugg slippers -- the style is Coquette, and they're black. They keep my feet so warm!!

I've been trying to keep up with my workouts. I've decided that getting up at 4 a.m. to workout on my workdays just isn't happening -- I just cannot do it with any regularity. So I decided that I'll attempt to do two separate workouts on my days off -- one in the morning (cardio) and one in the evening (strength). We'll see how that goes. :) Right now I'm favoring a couple of DVDs, both from The Biggest Loser trainers -- Cardio Max and Power Sculpt. I did the Cardio Max level 1 workout yesterday, and it kicked my butt!! :)

Went to Charlottesville on Tuesday, just for grins. Cute little downtown area. We'll have to go back there sometime and widen our explorations! It was soooooo nice out when we were there ... weird weather for January, but we'll take it.

We've been discussing where we want to be in the next few years, and the answer is that we just don't know yet. We're always considering Colorado Springs, of course; it's always felt like "home" to Michael, and I love it there. And being a civil service brat and living all over the place, I can go anywhere and adapt with ease. But I want him to visit Oregon, too ... I know he'd love it there, and it's been far too long since I've visited my birth state! So we'll see, in a few years, just where we end up. Ultimately we could even stay in Virginia, but who knows?
