Been doing a lot of studying for Nursing Concepts 3 -- my exam is scheduled for July 31st -- a week from today. I'll be ready!

Had another follow-up appointment with my eye doc today in Sterling, and we took some corneal measurements of my right eye for my "enhancement" surgery. She also dilated my eyes, which is always fun ... my pupils get huge in no time flat, and stay dilated for hours and hours. Ugh. In any case, we've scheduled my "enhancement" *cough*do-over*cough* surgery for August 14th. Yay!!!!!!!! I will be so glad to finally see 20/20 out of BOTH eyes, not just the left. My right eye is still firmly between 20/30 and 20/40. But I rarely notice the blurriness of the right one -- usually only when I'm tired, or at night. Most of the time everything looks just fine. You see with your brain, not with your eyes, blah blah blah. Yeah, we dropped a bundle of moola on this, let's just get it done, mkay? :) I really like my eye doc, though -- she's great. I had to wait at least three months from the original surgery (April 24) for the touch-up anyway, so we're pretty much on schedule.

Used the visit to the Sterling area as an excuse to eat at The Cheesecake Factory and have -- what else? -- cheesecake!! It's the only restaurant left that I can find that still serves low-carb cheesecake, so when I go there, I'm going to eat it. I nearly hurt myself finishing the cheesecake today because I was already full, but dammit, I was going to eat every last bite!! Michael helped me with it. :)

So not much else going on here ... yay, exciting update. Ha ha. (Although I am seriously excited about getting my right eye fixed! Although I'll be sure to eat before surgery this time -- that 10 mg of Valium really hit me a little too hard last time ... I was pretty wasted. Yes, I suppose I'm a lightweight!)

    Here's a petition worth signing: http://www.petitiononline.com/nobigd/petition.html

Please read it, check out the "tattoos" (a term used loosely) on the referenced site, and prepare to want to gouge your eyes out. Yikes.
