Here's a picture of my Valentine's Day gift:

    Isn't it pretty? :)

In other news ... we got a full-price offer on our house today! Yes, really. Only one day on the market, and that is NOT normal for Winchester! But hey, fine — we'll take it! Ha ha. We'll close in 60 days. So that means we have to find a new house soon! We're going to look at a few places with our agent this coming Tuesday. We're pre-approved for a good loan, too. I'm sure we'll put an offer in next week — there are a couple that we really like, as far as we can tell by looking online. :) So we'll see! How exciting. :) I told myself I wasn't going to do this the usual backwards way where I find the house I want, then scramble to sell the current home ... I've done that every other time. But not this time! :)

Happy Valentine's Day!! We spent a lovely morning/afternoon together, and we're cooking steaks for ourselves for dinner tonight. Mmmmmmm, steak! :D I got a lovely garnet ring, too. Awwww!

Our house is officially on the market! I've been doing some painting the last few days — just minor stuff, really. The house went on the market at noon, and we had our first agent and client through here at 3:30! Wow, that was fast! Ha ha. I don't think she'll make an offer, though — our house was TOO nice. That's right, TOO nice — she and her husband want a fixer-upper. Oh well! I guess there are worse reasons why someone would not make an offer. ;) But her agent said she had other people who might be interested; they both loved the house, and said the price was excellent. Good feedback, overall!

I've been sick the last few days (yes, while doing all this painting ... blech). Just upper respiratory crud and fatigue. I'm feeling much better today, though. I still have one more day off before I go back to work for four days. Yay!

Still missing Mia ... I keep thinking I see her, but it turns out to actually be a shoe or something. Weird how the mind plays tricks on you. Her vet just called a little while ago to let me know how sorry she was that it turned out like that ... she felt so bad that we did all these things to just have it end with euthanizing her. But I told her she did a good job with Mia's tongue surgery (and she did), and that was the only option available to us — you can't leave a lesion like that in a cat's mouth, especially since it appeared to be malignant (she just told me that — she said she could still send it off for biopsy, but I told her not to worry about it). In any case, we'll probably go over to the SPCA tomorrow and give the homeless kitties some love ... but no, we are NOT going to get a fourth cat anytime soon! Three is a good number for us right now. I meant it! :)

Mia had pretty extensive tongue surgery last week to get rid of a cancerous lesion on her tongue ... unfortunately it left her with essentially no tongue function, which spells the end for any cat — you can't do a feeding tube long-term, especially when a cat is 13 years old. So we made the most difficult decision, and said goodbye. Dammit, that sucked. We were with her when she got her injection, and we came straight home and hugged the cats.

Finally got the Earthlink phone up and running, and it's great! I called Verizon and finally spoke to a competent individual ... she waived our last bill ($45) because I had received such poor service. Yay! So now we just need to buy a phone that comes with two handsets so that we can have a phone downstairs, too.

In other news ... we're going to be moving again! We've been in our current home for almost two years, and we were planning on staying here for a long time, but we really need a bit more land and seclusion. We love our house, but we're seeing a lot of tempting options on the market. Our real estate agent, Megan, is coming over this morning to discuss pricing. We've made a bunch of improvements (central air, heat pump, re-did the bathroom, new refrigerator, new dryer, etc.), so we should be able to sell the house for a good price. And the location is wonderful — in the historic district, within walking distance of Old Town. So we'll see what happens!

Smudge, our baby kitty, is getting so big! She had her spay surgery last week, and we're taking her back for her check-up today. Our oldest cat, Mia, had to have surgery on her tongue the other day — she had a cancerous lesion on it. Poor thing! She's 13 years old, and this has been hard on her. She can't eat or drink on her own, so we're syringe-feeding her. She hates it! But she's too cranky to die so soon. :)

Still loving my job. I'm starting my pre-requisites for nursing school, so that's fun. Yay, more school! I'm such a nerd. :)
