We're all moved in to the new place! We love it. :) I don't really miss the old place much ... yeah, it was in a pretty setting, but I guess I'm not really a country girl. Heh.

Carolyn, our seller, is so sweet — she left us a nice card and a little basket of blooming flowers at the new place. :)

Michael was absolutely amazing with helping to do all the packing ... I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff, but I still have a lot of books, and he packed almost all of them for me. And the work he did in the basement was just unbelievable — when I went down there the night before we moved, he'd re-arranged everything, swept, and had all the trash together. :)

Last Thursday morning, Moving Day, Michael put all the reptiles in the Land Rover and drove them up to the new house that morning, so we wouldn't have to worry about moving their tanks. Ashe was outside, and the other two cats were in the master bathroom so that they wouldn't run out when the movers were there.

The movers didn't arrive until noon, and it took them 30 minutes to get backed down the driveway. Heh. I warned them! I had also provided good directions, and they chose to ignore them and use Mapquest ... silly movers — Mapquest will take you all over the place, AND get you lost if you're not careful. Whatever!

Overall, the movers were really good — very careful, very efficient. (Of course, we've been cursing the amount of tape they used as we try to UNpack, but it's all good. ;)) Definitely money well-spent — it was weird for us to just sit there while they worked — especially for Michael, who is definitely the heavy-stuff-lifter in the family and used to work for a moving company.

They finally had everything packed up in the truck at about ... what, 6 p.m. or something? Can't remember. We caravaned up to Winchester, where, of course, they had already closed off a couple of streets for the Apple Blossom Festival, so we had to go around a bit ... but no big deal. They unpacked everything and reassembled some things, and were out of there by 8:45 p.m. (with one scary moment where the driver couldn't find the truck keys, but did find a hole in his pocket ... they found the keys under one of the wheels — *whew*). They did leave some things for us to reassemble, and I can't find all the screws for my computer desk, but everything's fine anyway — the screws were just for the monitor stand, so I just have the monitor sitting on the desktop. Oh well ... whatever! :)

So our first night in the new place, we ordered pizza, which arrived around 9 p.m.; we sat on the huge front porch and drank diet Pepsi and ate yummy pizza. :D Very nice to be living in a place where food can actually be delivered! Yay!

The rooms are looking great ... we ended up setting up both our computers in the same office, which is really cool. :) The office is definitely large enough! And because of where the outlets are, we put our desks right next to each other. Awwww! :D We had the cable internet installed yesterday, and I networked our computers together so we can both use the same cable connection.

It's really starting to feel like home. :) We've already sat out on the porch quite a bit -- it's wonderful! We'll probably get a porch swing soon.
